I have a felony for "Take and operate motor vehicle with out owners concent" . How will this affect my abillity to obtain my Hazmat endorsment? I was charged in 1997. I'm working on getting a pardon from the governor and want as much leverage as possible.

I think you should re-read the post I originally made. I was in no way even remotely suggesting that Swift had any business in the left lane. In fact, I said that Swift should have backed out of it in order to stay in the RIGHT lane.

    I'll await you're apology.

How can you expect a Swift trainee under the gun of his oppressors to not try to get another truck length ahead? Don't you know he's gonna lose his job if he doesn't?

Oh...forgot...he's gonna lose his job anyway...

I see the LTL guys do this crap just as much as the Swift guys...

IMO, both those drivers should be shot so everyone's life is better :)

I'm the guy that started this thread, making this point. If Swift is passing my J.B. Hunt truck, I'm obviously the slower truck. Out of courtesy, I should be the one to give in this situation, and I do it all the time. Why can't Sunflower back out of the pedal for 5 seconds and let the faster truck go on around? I mean what are you losing, maybe a second out of your day? Reacting to traffic is part of our job. There's no reason to keep the faster truck out there that long.

I think you're right for purely psychological reasons. You are in a very slightly faster truck than the other guy and if you sit behind him, you're wondering all the way down the road if you're losing time or not. Also, he may really drop off the map when a hill comes along and you'll be stuck back there instead of climbing, so yes, Sunflower should have removed a petal. (pun intended...groaner, I know...)

I work for Swift, some times the guy is going 58 or so, you go to pass him and he gives it some more pedal, till he gets to a hill, and then you're stuck behind him in 4th gear, and then he proceeds to fly down the hill, brake lights blazing, and it happens again, gets pretty frustrating. Bit different than that situation, but its one of many that cause problems like that(although the terrain looked pretty flat)

Swift has a lot of dumb drivers, just like any company, I watched one of my "co-workers" nearly run a truck off the road in front of me when the passing lane ended in MO someplace, in fact the guy ended up on the shoulder.

People are people, and people do stupid ####. :)

I hear you, man. My previous truck here at Marten was governed at 64, my current one is governed at 66. Amazing how so many drivers don't have the common courtesy to ease off the throttle even a little bit to let you pass. Such is life in a governed truck.

I'm a little frightened at the fact that there s a guy in the hammer lane clicking off pictures and road-raging about who is passing who. that's a rear-end collision waiting to happen. If the slow dude in the hammer lane crests a hill and see's something in his lane and mashes the brakes while your worried about mile-markers and focusing...guess what?

Fortunately the need to speak on the CB never arose, thus engaging in a distraction to the road.

Your analysis of this quandry is beyond profound.
