Hi all.
First, I’m very new to all of this and am in the process of studying and obtaining my CDL PERMIT right now.
My only problem is I’m wondering if having multiple points on my record for speeding and parking tickets will affect my eligibility for obtaining a CDL in TEXAS.
Any help or answers you can offer are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Give us a rundown on the tickets and dates of the tickets.
If any are 15 mph over the speed limit, there may be a problem, depending on how long ago. -
Nope. The points won’t effect your CDL at all. The tickets will. But points are just points.
Define speeding? Less than 15 over the posted? More?
If more, get ready to meet the dirtbags of the trucking industry. Many companies now consider 15 over as reckless driving. -
I know when I started I had to have my license a full year clean before my cdl school would let me in and I had to have a pre hire. as long as there over a year old probably be ok based of my experience but that was back in 2012 also.

Keep in mind before passing judgement, all but 1 of these tickets were under the age of 18 and I had a Mustang GT lol.
I don’t believe I ever had a ticket for over 15 but there may have been one instance where it was (never over 20 though).
I have about 6-7 tickets overall. All but 2 for speeding and those were for parking against traffic (in a subdivision across the street from my house ) and parking in a handicap spot at my apartment complex.
The issue is, during the past year I did have to pay Texas Surcharges and I’m not sure if there’s a point at which one passes when it comes to the amount of tickets and is no longer eligible for a Intrastate CDL in Texas.
I have a job lined up with a company in the Austin area so I’m not worried about dealing with dirtbags either. -
As for the dates; I’d say 1 in late 2018, 2 early 2017, 4 in 2016.

Parking tickets are not moving violations.. Insurance doesn't normally care about what amounts to municipal fines.. Now an employer may see it as something to worry about as you seem to have / had a real problem following the laws

Why not just call your local DoT station and ask them? Does this prospective employer know about the tickets? If not, you may not have a job lined up. If they do then you're likely ok...if they've run you by their insurance company who will have the final say in whether or not you're employable. Sounds like you're facing a bit of an uphill battle to me.
