If you want to write a paper on how technology is impacting drivers I suggest you get away from this freight matching thing and lets talk about technology that is really effecting drivers such as:
1. ELD's
2. Trucks with adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, etc
3. How trucks now have more ECM's in them than you have fingers on your hands
4. Driving apps such as Truckerpath and how its revolutionized finding parking
I'm sure others can add other things here but thats what I suggest you do your paper on. We can all give you tons of info on those topics.

But until someone cares about my COMPLETE privacy. They can take a piss. You don’t need access to my contacts, email, photos, location or anything else.
I’m tech savvy enough to know why the app may have need for limited access. Also tech savvy enough to spot an app that harvest my data to sell.drumchaos Thanks this. -
To help you, you have to look at the market itself. The way some of this this works is a shipper may not use a serivice to broker the loads hence no appearance on an app.
See the problem is there are a thousand different models for this connection between a logistic provider and the customer. -
I have not driven since after 9-11, medically retired and we did not have much of the things we deal with now in so far as how the technology has evolved since then to possible speeding up transfer of copies in virtual imagery of freight billing to those who have need of it in a timely manner.
The closest I would get to it if I was on the road today is with a laptop computer, internet connection and upload or transmit scanned bills off the small mini printer/scanner etc driven by inverter in the truck. Essentially a small office. It's not difficult or expensive at all.
This forum represents to me a somewhat older type of web page that I really enjoy using. I have been around forums for many years hither thither and yon online. It also is one of the better forums you will find related to trucking. You sometimes will not hear what you want to hear here. That's one of the reasons. The knowledge along with the teasing and occasional hijinks makes it interesting. -

Technology has made it hard for me to find a phone booth to change into my super trucker outfit.

I always find it amusing how these “students” (aka companies) just assume we’re not gonna be able to smell them out.
