Your 13 and 18 and 15 are close enough to same length to swap. 9's 10's etc are close enough however it takes driveline work to put a 13 where a 9 or 10 was

That has to do with case length. They are all fairly easy to swap. You just may need to lengthen or shorten the driveline.

So what's more sensible. 13 in the place of the 10 and related work or get rid of the 2 speed rears?

I will give you this advice. Your way better buying what you want need than buying something you want and making it what you need. Or buying something close but then wanting this change or that.

It never goes as planned trust me

Would the 2 speed benefit me in the long run of having twice as many gears

The financial adviser had decided this is the truck he wants and the guy came off it 4500 bucks. It's also in the best shape of the trucks we've looked at.

If the 10 is overdrive fine. Dont worry about stick positions for gears seriously. Worry bout rpm in high gear. Get numbers off the trans etc. Be sure of what your dealing with. In the case of old trucks they could have anything in them
