Mine was behind a 315 Cummins so I can’t say which was bad, but it wasn’t a great combo

Then which ever gives up first lol. In seriousness I'm not sure if you can shift the rears while in motion I have never run a tandem set only the old bob trucks. I also am not familiar enough to say if both drive lines will need work if you swap them out.

Roadway had some of those when my dad worked there. He said they were alright.

Yea Spicer had a 6 and a 6+1 single counter shaft syncro. trans behind the 466, 444. Good for a box truck I guess, sucked in a wrecker. Short throw turd and so close you were not sure what you would get. I put them right there with the rockwell/meritor metric junk.

Start with the right tool for the job. You can “1 more thing” yourself to death and what you gonna have is some cobbled together bull #### that don’t do nothing as good as it would if you started out with the right thing in the first place.

Yep the one in our service truck has the tightest shift pattern I’ve ever seen.

The ones I’m talking about had twin counter shaft, not the medium duty trans.
