So will I have to take all three parts of the test again, or just the road portion?

you got it ! the truck is big and long so be patient. use both lanes (stay in the middle of both lanes) to turn if you have to but that is for later, im not sure if you could do that on the test. because i would think that is more safe than crossing into the lane on the other side while you are turning.

i believe you only have to take the road test again.

You should only have to retake the sections you fail

Million miler doesn’t mean the same now as it did 20-40 years ago.

But every #### one of them, past and present had an incident ;) They just didn’t get caught.

The new guys are under tremendous pressure. So my hats off to them.

They’ll never experience pulling into a truckstop at 9pm and finding 20-30 OPEN parking spots.

They’ll never experience the joy of running in a pack of trucks hauling ### at midnight across Texas. Talking #### on the radio all night.

They never experience the joy of having 3 or 4 drivers pulling over to offer them help on the side of the road.

They’ll never experience what trucking truly was, back in the day.

Sometimes it takes stuff like that to learn. Some people that's how something finally clicks in their head and they get it.

    No big deal.

Alright I found another one for friday afternoon. That gives me time to get a practice session in first and watch some videos on right hand turning tips.

in a sharp right turn, if you are at the intersection first, it is legally for you to make two cars to backup so you could make a wide turn and cross into their lane. the key is to go straightforward for an extra distance before you turn and keep as much and as long as you could to the left until the trailer is clear on the mirror then pull your tractor back to the right side.

some 4 wheelers will understand and park way behind the line for you to turn but dont expect anything lol, if you have to wait till it is clear then do so, no points will be subtracted for being safe

I booked the test at a different location. The traffic is heavier in that are BUT, it's mainly streets that have a median in between each direction, so I won't have to worry as much about cars in the lane I'm trying to use speeding up and waiting to turn.
Either way I've learned my lesson. If I don't have two lanes available to turn, I'm going to stop and wait until I do have them.

Those years can be summed up in one sentance upgrade.

HERE KITTY KITTY KITTY. First to top gets dinner bill.

You better have something under that hood to be playing that game. Engines were engines back then whatever they were.

All in good fun. Some of those older Cats... whew. I like em all, but did best in Detroit. Have a cat fall down before you have to downshift.
