That truck is so cheap you could probably buy it blind and not get hurt. It just annoys me that so many people put up the mileage on a rebuild and say nothing about total chassis mileage. Contradicting myself. I know.

When looking at a $10k truck the most important things to look for are that it’s not all hacked together. Then make sure you got plenty of reserves in the bank $$$.
I bought my truck for $13k but have put another $40k in it over the last 3 years.
If the truck (like that blue one) is pieced together, missing components and wires and hoses all spliced together, that’s a signal to run.
I didn’t do any ecm dump, dyno or oil samples on my truck before I bought it. Don’t know that it would of changed anything either?
What I did know is the truck was owned local to me it’s whole life and what was repaired was done correctly. It did know it needed a transmission when I bought it and I’m sure the cam lobe was already going bad but......
If your buying a cheap truck you better know how to turn wrenches yourself and have a place to do it.
I agree with all those checks but at that price point you have to ask yourself if it’s worth it? If you don’t have enough mechanic abilities to check a truck over property yourself then you have to ask yourself if a $10k truck is what you should be looking at?
What are you preparied to do if the engine losses it core value (hole in block) 800 miles from home on your 3rd week on your own?
Because then the value of the truck is less than the tow bill? Plus the $10k you paid for it are gone.... pooffff!

@Zeviander When the temps. get above freezing pull the lines off the gauges and let them blow, drain any air tank, make sure the air drier has a recent filter. Preventative measures go a long ways in helping to avoid problems.
