Late Model KW and Cummins Cold Weather Plugging in

    I'm curious how the daytime running lights killed the batteries? The only time they're activated is when the tractor brakes are released, and if you want them deactivated then reach in and pull the wire off the back of the maxi brake switch.

    Correct. Mine does not use any DEF at all when really cold out. The other day when it warmed up to about -24 it started to use it again.

    I prefer my plan. Loaded for the house Thursday, home by Saturday afternoon and ain't going back north till this stuff blows over. I saw thart forecast for minus 35 windchill in canton and said screw you guys, I'm going home!

    Change the oil cooler seals. Pretty easy job.

    I cleaned it all up and I was going to try to pin point where it was coming from,but it's been kinda cold.I guess drain the AF pull the cooler off the block,5bolts.What are they O rings.

    Yes. Just big o rings. While you got it off i would suggest taking it apart and inspecting the actual cooler inside the housing. Will need to drain coolant and drop the oil filter.

    Edit to add: if you take it already to inspect the cooler inside you will also need the seal for the housing, but they are cheap

    No, when the ignition is on. They were not hooked through the brake pressure switch like cruise control is.
