    Hi All,

Like the title says. I can’t drop my trailer. I seemed to have tried everything. Rocking the trailer. Locked trailer brakes and put tractor in reverse and lock tractor brakes. Raised and lowered trailer.
Sitting on a flat surface. I have handle out in the unlock position (had to pull that out with a chain) but lock still wrapped around king pin. ughh

You’re gonna have to work it back to get handle locked back in . Then try again, pull ahead hard enough it should release

    baha and DBIGUY Thank this.

You think it is possible something is broke in there?

I wish there was a good illustration of how that particular model works. There is no adjustment bolt to get to or bolt to bang on to unlock it like there is on some 5th wheels unless I just don’t see it.

There is a U bolt just like i typed the letter U around your kingpin. When you lift your handle slightly and then PULL on the #### thing from the side that U rotates to you and releases the kingpin to come out one way.

If you really cannot get it, call your company. They can grab a rotator or something and get it unhooked and take the whole thing to a shop. It better be busted. At the same time be careful you don't destroy your shoulders and the structure inside of them as you pull it could take you a year to recover after that kind of surgery.

You say the handle needs to be held out with a chain? Maybe it broke off or came loose ? Holland is a very simple design. I’m sure their website has illustrations. I’ve been there before for rebuilding purposes.

There are vids off that fith wheel on you tube.
Might want to look at them to help you visualise how it works.

Can you look under it to see if the handle is disconnected?

If the handles connected. I’d try raising trailer up as far as possible and spraying it with Wd or pb blaster. good at kingpin.Use diesel fuel if nothing else available

I had one that wouldn't latch open, had to hold the handle out while uncoupling, once it started to open, the handle would stay latched.

Got a newer one now, you just pull it, you don't have to lift at the same time, and that is much easier.
