Thank you for the info. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Just concerns me it runs these temps empty level ground. If it hit 1000-1200 on a hard pull up a good size hill I wouldn't be to worried. Currently it's running 900-1000 loaded on the level ground 5-10 seconds into to the hill it hits 1100-1200 and i have to back way out. Then proceed to down shift and use 30-40% throttle to keep around 1000. Should I push it a little harder?

Would a 3406E turbo oil feed and drain be in the same spot as the C15?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Yes. One post mentioned the manifold cracking between the ports. If it is eroded that will cause high egts. The only way to see is take turbo off and inspect. Did you pressurize the cac separately from the air system and see if it held pressure. In my opinion any kind of leakage is unaceptable.

SAR, spsauerland and Oxbow Thank this.

When I took the turbo off I inspected the manifold. The divider and rest of the manifold looked good. I took at picture of the manifold outlet let me find it on my phone and upload it

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Another thing to check if it hasn't already been said is pull the intake elbow off the front of turbo and spin the propeller with your hand with a little bit of side force to see if wheel is contacting housing or if
the fins might have nicks or dings in them.

    SAR and Oxbow Thank this.

I can get mine to 900, but that is usually at elevations near 7000'.

This is what makes me think mine has an issue. In oklahoma loaded I can barely keep mine under 900. windy day that wont happen on level ground. I have to back down to 55mph or the truck will run the entire trip at 1000 or so
