Hired on with Landstar only after they insisted I completely quit my job. I completed all the requirements, installed the computer, put their decals on my truck, & finished orientation only for them to call me and tell me that I don't qualify for employment. They couldn't even give me a reason or explanation as to why. Nor did they explain why this didn't come up during the vetting process. I call BS.

    Blackeagle23 and Tombstone69 Thank this.

Wow, that’s messed up. Can you think of any reason why you wouldn’t qualify?

By law you can submit a written request for the reason for your denial of employment under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and as outlined under FMCSA Reg. 391.23

For employment that all may be true. We are talking Landstar though. They don't have any employees. They just lease on O/O's. It's a business to business relationship and as such has almost no regulation for the company leasing on to - driver relationship.

    Blackeagle23 Thanks this.

I didn't know employment was related to the FCRA.

I thought FCRA was a financial issue. So to speak.

    Yes it does.
And some companies run a credit check when leasing on O/Os. In that case it probably would fall under the fcra. Years back, I noticed that by signing the application when leasing on to a company that I was giving permission for a credit check. I DO read all of the fine print.
