The cdl mills push too many people through. The megas spend too much on advertising and the newbies don't know enough to stay away from the likes of CRST

No. You have Federal Hours of Service that says you will get breaks.
If you chose to breach the HOS limits and failed to adequately communicate the need to update delivery appointments to stay legal or hand off a late load to someone else or team then it's on you.
Ran so hard is a complaint that died approximately 2005.TaterFox and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
When I did transfer of these trailers to little rock, I never stopped until Little Rock from Memphis if at all possible. To stop within 100, 200 or whatever is to draw INSTANTLY attention from people who stand to lose quite a bit if you are being hijacked or otherwise losing your *&^% as we say.
The complaint of never stopping with high value loads is not valid. It is actually a best practice. You roll. If you are prepared such as filling, eating, resting etc and get all your stuff together PRIOR to picking up that high value load, there is no reason to stop at all. And you will not. Or you will be replaced with someone who wont stop. -
Learning to sleep on the move is a big challenge in team. There are many posts on TTR about how to do it. We built a nest so to speak in ours so that no matter how bad the road is we can sleep.
Finally if you examine carefully the HOS versus two team drivers, you will find that 24/7 is not possible. That truck will stop a time per day and night. It has to. That is the time you two take care of what needs taking care of. -
Team Driving...
I recall a few years ago a team driver was killed by his co driver while driving down the interstate. When the State Trooper arrived at the crash, he called homicide detectives to report the amount of blood wasn't consistant with a driver killed wearing a seatbelt. Further inspection revealed a bloody hammer in the sleeper.Last edited: Feb 4, 2019
