Start as a company driver. DO NOT buy a truck until you know the business. Just learning to drive is hard enough at times. Learning to drive AND manage the business side at the same time is a real bad idea. And as attractive as they make it sound do not do a lease purchase. There are very few leases that even make sense even for an experienced driver. To rope a new driver into a lease is borderline criminal.

Did you lose the job because of the conviction or some other reason?

    OK let's see ...

You are convicted of some unknown crime.

You seem to blame that on you not getting hired.

But then you got fired for something else?

I'm not trying to bust your balls here but the conviction unless it is mass murder or sex with minors (rape) isn't holding you back. Even drug dealing convictions seem to be getting ignored in this industry now, had two applicants who disclosed it and they were not small time corner dealers. By the way, I didn't hire either of them because they got a job with FedEx on the docks.

It isn't like being a felon carries any sigma today, hell with the shift in attitudes, and the preferred treatment for hiring them, I only see those two types of convictions holding you back.

With thousands of places to find work, you need to just start applying for jobs.

This is the best way to deal with it, ignore the rejections and take the offers.

    APPLY everywhere you can.

AND about why you got fired, you want to tell us? yes I am wondering what it is ... if you don't want to tell me, OK won't hold it against you.
