Back on the Rail with JB Hunt

I spent the night on Monday at the consignee in Clackamas, OR. Big lot, been there many times.

That night we got snow and temps dropped. Around 11 p.m. I was awakened by the sound of spinning wheels and loud engines!

Took a peek and there were a group of at least 15 guys in big & small pickups and assorted cars taking turns doing donuts and figure 8's from one end of the lot to the other.

Went on for over 2 hrs...

Calling the cops did absolutely no good.

 

What kind of person would call the cops on kids playing in the snow? I'm glad calling them did no good.

 

They were hoodlums. Trespassing as well.

The dock manager told me the same punks show up in the summer and do the same thing, heat up their tires where it shoots rubber fragments on the sides of the building.

They've called the cops about it and nothing is ever done...

 

Not too mention a couple of those guys got precariously close to my truck while spinning around on the ice & snow.

If one of them hit me and did damage, I guarantee you they would of split from the premises fast and I would of had nothing to go on. Left with paying the deductible, potential downtime, etc.

You're right, it's not a laughing matter or just "kids out having fun in the snow."

 

SMH. God created snow covered parking lots for this very reason. I would lay my head down and sleep in absolute peace knowing everything is still good in the world. I'm 45 and still have a hard time passing up a good snow covered lot.
Leave the kids alone and relax a bit. Next thing you know you will be in a rocking chair drooling on yourself cussing everytime the wind blows.

 

Hell I'm 68 and can't pass up a chance at a good snow covered parking lot, now get off my lawn!
