Heading for Terre haute on Sunday. It's supposed to snow
. Going to put "Little pink houses" on auto replay and find out for myself what's going on with this chili.
Last time I tried something like this I ate at Emos pizza in Mo. I was intrigued at a St. Louis style pizza. It wasn't very good but ate the whole thing. Spent the next day strategically figuring out how to not crap my pants.MagnumaMoose, stwik, austinmike and 6 others Thank this. -
-26 in Meacham, OR right now. Going to have to check and make sure we don't have fish-sicles back there when we get to Pendleton....

Chilli from the deceased Father in law:
2 large cans of beans (16 oz) drained
one can each with juice (16 oz) crushed, peeled tomatoes
one large spanish onion chopped
one green pepper
3 drops tobasco sauce for chemical heat
(sorry I know this isnt ethical) one package of chilli seasoning from a store
1 tablespoon of chilli powder
2 pounds seared stew beef.
Cook on medium heat for 22 hours. Stir once every hour (sleep permitting) to keep from sticking to pan.
Final two hours add 1 cup either rice or noodles to thicken.
With out the thicken part it makes about 5 quarts of food
With the thicken it makes around 6.5 quarts of food and is a big hit at family reunion. Next year we have been asked to double the recipe. Grin the family wants some left overs.
