Probably, but the standards have got to be pretty low. The mattress that came on my truck was terrible. It was a light weight spring mattress that eventually started poking the hell out of me.
Where do you buy a mattress to replace the one in the truck?

I didn't get a twinXL, but a regular twin, and I have a little bit of room at the foot of the bunk for storage. But this is a great bed,

And no DOT doesn't care if you sleep on the floor. As long as you get your 10 hour break.

8 inches of memory foam. Is it the bed that swallows you up whole?
Nukem Thanks this. -
A Casper would be nice, but they're expensive as hell, just the same as innerspring mattresses. I've had a $150 memory foam mattress from Amazon for 2 years now and it's been great. Freezes solid when I'm not in the truck with heat, but the best part about it is it insulates you from the side box if it's not heated.

I just found the FMCSA regulation code.
49 CFR § 393.76 - Sleeper berths.
You can also find it here:

I willing to bet if any DOT LEO searched a truck they wouldn't say a word about the mattress. but it is curious to know that they made a regulation for it. Someone, somewhere at sometime must have pushed it to the point that they had to "govern" what we sleep on.
Kinda sad actually... I always thought it was common sense -
I remember some article about impoverished otr drivers that had a picture of a guy in his sleeper. All he had in there was a milk crate to sit on. No mattress or even a mattress platform. It was weird.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Oh no... I sleep (occasionally) on a Tempurpedic at home and the one I have in the truck now is pretty close to the comfort level. but I'll tell you what. If you have back issues. This type of mattress is a blessingWesternPlains and 12 ga Thank this.

I’m in a 2019 Prostar. Anyone know what size mattress goes in there?
I realized recently that my neck and back are screwed up every wake up. I’m blaming the mattress it came with. I sleep on a tempurpedic at home. Any suggestions? I’ve never heard of purple mattress...
