10, 13, 15, 18.....doesn't make any difference. Seriously, how long have you been driving a truck? Or maybe you don't even drive a truck.

I'm sure you remember the first generation Eaton getting stuck in gear or between gear. US Express had a lot of them.

The 1986 CAT might be fun to drive if it was in a more modern truck.

Disc brakes are better then drums in everyway. The most important being the stopping distance and their ability to handle and deal with heat. If you have been driving any time you should know this by now. You sure your a truck driver

Wait till the inertia brake screws up and it won't go in gear because the computer is too dumb to know to shift. I'm not wishing it on you but sooner or later it'll happen.I've driven hundreds of miles with no clutch when the throwout bearing let go, try doing that with an autoshift. Oh well, there's a driver shortage, we need to make room for drivers that can't do it the old fashioned way. The dumbing down of America, I like that. And disc brakes are a great idea, been a long time coming.

Yep, Just what I thought. You're a poser. It's obvious by reading what you post. I think I've shifted every Eaton manual box ever built since 1986 and not a single time have I been stuck in a gear. LMFAO

If you idle with a 10 speed and the car in front of you stops. Just like with 18 speed you have to stop also. You want to believe I could just idle and go slower then the other traffic.

We are talking about auto shift transmission. We all know a regular transmission can go 1.5 million miles or longer. The first generation auto they made got stuck in gear or between gears.

lol...I guess you've never had an auxiliary box jam between gears then?

this old girl has been relegated to yard duties nowadays, but she was used regularly until the late 90's. we spent a lot of time together...
