Been home all weekend because Donner is closed. Has stopped snowing but it is still closed to trucks. Hopefully in the morning it will be open again and I can make my daily shuttle run.

Today I'm in "Gun Barrel City" Texas. I know there has to be a reason behind that city name and I'm going to try and find out. From here I hope to start getting home.

Day 2 back at “work”. Changes have taken place in my absence. Follow along if ya can!

    1. David was the day-to-day supervisor of the locals. AND...

    2. David WAS training Daniel to take over since he was supposedly promoted to account rep. BUT....

    3. Daniel has supposedly been promoted to planner (NW area, I believe).

    Which leads us to:
    4. Chris M (from the dispatch window) is now supposedly the day-to-day supervisor of the locals. Bless his heart.

Thinking of going back OTR, but then I’d have to deal with our new DDM!

So, please, y’all pray for me because at this moment, nobody knows anything and I am sitting, sitting, sitting. At least I’m getting $$.

    O my goodness!
    This switch around never stops.
Now my question is what happened to "Cole" and who is "Jay"?
I spoke to my DM and she mentioned "Jay" and forgot to ask her what he does.

Cole got a new position, he now works the window at outbound. Not sure if that’s a promotion or demotion. Based on the circus back at the mothership, if I was in charge, I’d get rid of some of the dead weight. Quit moving people around, just fire them. It’s like putting a 2 pound bag of sugar on a pile of human excrement, at the end of the day you still have said pile of poop.

    Lonesome and Silverdriver Thank this.

Then there would be hardly anyone left at all! LOL. But seriously, yes, quit moving folks around and quit hiring dumb and dumber.

    Silverdriver and JohnBoy Thank this.

My usual run is I take an empty trailer from Fernley Nevada to Crockett California. Pick up a pre loaded trailer of C&H sugar and then back over the Pass to the Walmart DC on USA Parkway in McCarran NV. Then home. Usually I have until midnight to complete this run so my time is somewhat flexible.
OTOH, today is a Gatorade load from Tracy CA back to Walmart.
Now and then I get a load of dog food out of Sparks and take it to our drop yard in Turlock CA and then do either sugar or gatorade.
