They're god awful heavy, just so you know.

Merritt is what our company uses. No telling how old they are though.

Carry 3/8-1/2 binders that can be used for both and you can save some weight on carrying both sets.

How heavy is yours? I got a 3 door protech that’s 18” deep; I can pick it up by myself. I wouldn’t want to be carrying it around but I can move it solo. Can’t be more than 300 lbs empty. A open headache rack is most of that weight.

Guess I was just assuming because our trucks are stupid heavy and I can't seem to figure out where that weight comes from. 22,000 bobtail. Midroof prostars. 244"

My 3/8-1/2 ratchet binders are rated for 12,000 WLL. Enough to meet to 11,300 WLL of 1/2" chain.

SAR, PoleCrusher, cke and 4 others Thank this.

There are some 3/8-1/2 binders out there that are only rated for 9200 lbs. They usually have the smaller hooks and smaller links on the binder though.

SAR, PoleCrusher, cke and 3 others Thank this.
