I would not say it makes you think. The flatbed hall of shame thread I think proves that. What it does do is quickly weed out the ones who cannot think.
Well it is.I'm all snowflakey. And I'm sure you've seen how quickly all those snowflakes melt in the rain..![]()

@Mr. PPS
My best company flatbed job was 40% to me, average rates to the truck were around $4.00 a mile. I was paid $200 to tarp each load, even with a quick draw system (sailboat fuel paid a premium through a government contract). I was running about 1500 miles a week, and bringing home $2600 after taxes.
This was a stark contrast from my previous company where I was a company driver making 15%. Out of that 15% I had to pay for fuel, maintenance, tolls. I did have a lot more satisfaction working for nearly free with this company, knowing they were making a profit was enough motivation.
I left flatbedding and now run team for McKesson, armed security loads of pharmaceuticals. We run 24/7/365 and while I make upwards of $300k a year, I do miss tarping for free. Here comes the MP’s, gotta go.PoleCrusher, 4mer trucker, SAR and 4 others Thank this. -

These wannabe big bucks supertruckers didn't make it back in the days. Luckily, as truckersforums attest, six figures salaries spread like fire through flat bed world.
