it didn't look like he was going fast. maybe he was in the right lane, and moved over to avoid hitting it, and lost control?

the other truck went on by with no issues.

i dunno, the company certainly has already seen this video.....

What I don’t understand is why Swift didn’t turn to the left to un jackknife it. Instead the driver chose to go the wrong direction and nearly made a bad situation worse.

It looked like the guy pulling the can caught it and just drove through it.

That driver obviously wanted to get the heck out of there and likely resumed his driving without checking his truck out.

School bus driver kept fighting for control, steering into the skid. Using the brakes, although a natural response, didn't help the situation as traction was already lost. The more you're asking your tires to do, the less likely they are to regain traction.

Swift, on the other hand, goes into full panic mode...locked 'em down and hang on. Steering wheel didn't move at all, and they were just along for the ride at that point. They probably haven't been driving very long, and definitely lack experience in the snow/ice as they did pretty much everything wrong.

Can hauler started to slide, adjusted the throttle and maintained steering control and drove out of it. Pretty obvious it wasn't his first rodeo.

You don't want to sit there any longer than you have to when something like that happens. It's slick enough YOU lost it...how long before the next clown repeats your performance? Do you really want to still be there when they do? If you can move the vehicle to a safer location, do it. THEN get out and look at the damage, call your company, etc... Getting the heck out of the way of the next guy to slide was probably the only thing Swift did RIGHT in that clip!
