I run a company truck so there isn't a whole lot of modifications I can make to my truck to get the radio going good but as of right now I'm running a wilson 2000 strait off the factory hole for the antenna on the mirror bracket using a Wilson antenna mount and bobs coax cable

Like the axe murderer who helped you back out of a ditch when you were a rookie?

Trucking is full of ex-cons. Many of them good at what they do. And you (we) are unlikely to know they did time, etc.

Every man needs a job. Every man, good or bad.

I’d say the Rebbe has made a study of who does good tuning. And both shops are in his neighborhood, so to speak.

Bobs CB is a great storefront. Worth the stop you need something or not. Directly off Interstate. I’ve done that and also ordered online several times (not radios).

DTB a little harder to find UNLESS you study satellite pic ahead of time. The address is easy. Where to park is the question.

I live in Texas so using Ray Brashear in West Memphis, or my old friends at Clays CB is easier. I’ve also found and visited with the owner at Larry’s CB in McKinney as Amateur Level stuff drives plenty of his business.

The OP is well-advised to try all the shops. But go with the recommendation is what I’d try first.

Its harder on the people who enjoy a nicely set up radio to be disappointed by poor workmanship......I talked to a fella who is doin ok for himself by doin online research but is on his last ditch efforts in finding a tech who will not rip him off and have a radio that performs...
Hell i have seen my share of techs that dollar signs pop in their eyes when you walk in....
Wallcott is a perfect example..Walk in and start pickin up stuff and they almost get giddy with excitement....If you dont it seems they get grumpy take phone calls in the middle of a conversation or disappear in the back....They to like bobs have a well stocked shop but after listening to their splatter boxes(wallcott),would i let them in my radio..Noooo..Same with the ta in wytherville va,any of the two guys in carlisle pa(there is a 3rd at the petro but never used him BUT when i asked to test my coax, their eyes glossed over) nor will i let wolfmans near my stuff either.....
Granted they all may have learned and gotten better orrr the same or worse but im not taken the chance..

I agree with all that, Craig. My experience, too.

Had to have Clay “fix” the 979 I bought at Walcott.

    But, great store!!
