I'll start.
At the Love's for my 30 min break. It's 22F outside. Why is the reefer unit on the trailer next to me running??
Sorta dumb question? Ask it here.

temp controlled loads have to be maintained. if some (or all) of product freezes, it can be denied at the receiver..Bill51, Suspect Zero, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this. -
My reefer never shuts off when I have a temp controlled load on board... Most my loads are in the 35 to 50 degree range, depending on what it is.
Bill51, Swiss Mountain Dog and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Those leafy green produce loads can be damaged at even a few degrees below their typical 34° set point..
The on/off mode is more for do not freeze, or frozen loads, you can get away using it with some produce like potatos, onions, oranges, etc. The heartier ones. Or if you haul chocolate or other commodities where it's fine anywhere between say 40 and 65 degrees or whatever. Anything leafy green or any kind of berry must be kept on continuous.Bill51, Swiss Mountain Dog, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Bill51 Thanks this.

You never know what someone is hauling. Right now I'm moving a lot of paint. Sherwin Williams won't be as quick to load a dry van if the load goes north. I have to set the reefer at 55 degrees. If its 22 degrees, the reefer will come on fairly often
Bill51, Swiss Mountain Dog and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Cattleman84, x1Heavy and Lepton1 Thank this.
