I haul a tanker around the country, hazmat and general chemicals, though my company prefers no facial hair, ultimately it's up to the driver. I do lose some work due to the fact that I have a beard, but I've also discovered that rates tend to be lower or the "job" may be more of a pain in the ### than what it's worth...

On the other hand, by the way time I get back to my truck, find the mask and filters, get it outta the bag, assemble it, and get it on... My fat, been smoking too long, not exercising ### will be long dead. So I really don't care weather it seals or not.

Here's the thing, you may not care if you live or die, I certainly don't care if you live or die, but if you go down in a plant someone is going to to have to go looking for you. It is true that with certain masks, and proper prep you can get a good fit with a beard, unfortunately emergency situations don't come with a 30 minute warning.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 1, 2019

I've heard that Bruce Oakley requires their drivers to be clean shaven. Can anybody confirm or deny this?
