If you fill out a oath at the DMV and sign for say Tier two, then you keep your CDL A without a med card and unable to run in interstate or intrastate commerce. That is a form of grandfathering we did here for over 15 years.
That way no one downgrades nothing. Until either renewal or when you do get ahold of a valid DOT medical card. Turn that in, swear out and sign a Tier One paper and off you go back to work.tscottme and jlawson1979 Thank this. -
It's been the procedure for years now.
Everyone that's had their cdl that long should already know it.
This month will be my 3rd time visiting the dmv with my form. In 6 years.tscottme Thanks this. -

Yup, same thing happened to me, where I had my physical done they never sent it in to the DMV and so I got a letter just like yours, but I had to go down there and give it to them right away as I was headed out that day to drive.

I had the same issue. Went to DMV, they updated it in they're system, then got a letter from HQ in Nashville stating that I was good. But ended up wasting 3 hours of my morning waiting for that to happen, as I was not the first one in line.
I would just make sure you have ALL your documents with you that you need (as if you were getting your CDL) here in Choo choo... they made sure I had everything first, before sending me to the other side for the 10 minute fix in the computer. So save yourself the headache and bring it just in casetscottme and jlawson1979 Thank this. -
