I'm am so sick and tired of this slow down/move over law. At least here in NJ. I cant tell you HOW MANY TIMES I've seen trucks and regular drivers cut off cars in the lane next to them just to avoid not having to be in the far right lane when passing a pulled over cop car or roadside vehicle. It's ridiculous!!!!

I honestly wonder how many accidents have resulted from this law bc people get so dang jumpy now when they see flashing lights and feel like they have to change their position on the road come hell or high water!!!

I got a ticket for not moving over. He changed it to a warning at the last minute though.
That's a moving violation and can cost a few hundred dollars.

Time for you to retire if you can’t see why the law is needed ... you honestly think a jersey driver would back out of it if their wasn’t fines and points assessed

We have had several cops and pedestrians killed by passing vehicles... i personally support it. If your in the left and you see it coming, back off and give some space. They will only be in the left for 30 seconds.

But admittedly, some do make bone-headed moves to move over cutting off others, without giving others a chance to help out, first. But at least slow down, ride the zipper, make those in the left lane wish maybe they had allowed you in rather than be put into this new uncomfortable position of being mightily squeezed

Then, there's those either loitering or speeding in the left lane who refuse to offer any assistance to those in the right who could use a break.

I definitely slow down. I just dont do the whole immediatley swerving over into the next lane deal that I see other drivers do.

This law at least here in NJ is that if you see a cop car or emergency vehicle parked over in the shoulder, you need to slow down or move over into the next lane. Its causing alot of people to get real jumpy and causing them to cut off other drivers in the lane next to them.

We've had that law here in MN for years. Nobody's jumpy. But then again like I said, the majority of people in the left make room. Should be the law nationwide.

Its causing jersey drivers to become even worse! As soon as someone sees a car with flashing lights on the shoulder, theyre almost immediately swerving into the next lane which cuts off the other drivers!

And whats next? For the govt to mandate slowing down to 25mph at the sight of an emergency vehicle on the interstate? Or to come to a stop all together?? Its ridiculous.
