u seem to miss my point, I'm more pissed about them shutting down the highways before any snow even hits the pavement and dodging the responsibility of their job to maintain the roads,. If I really wanted to I could make to where I'm delivering tomorrow morning but aint gonna go 150 miles out of route to do it, why burn that fuel. I should have know better to start this post to begin with, was just a knee jerk reaction to reading about the closures this morning

The only one I know that is 18% that I took was route 6 in Pa. You're right wouldn't take it with snow or ice. When I was on it, I was empty :D

Great advice, idiots cant run the big road without wrecking, so tell them to run PA's deer trails. (Sarcasm)

Just be careful to pay attention to the infamous pa 20mph down the mountain signs and pull offs. They are there cuz some soupa twucka either killed somebody, or took out half the town screaming down the mountain

These folks in Pennsylvania don't even know what snow is, and PennDot Isn't even equipped to deal with real snowfall.

Must be a wild ride to take those steep grades there with burning brakes. Or the other side, Imagine coming up the curve only to see a smoking truck coming right at you.

If they're in the right gear they shouldn't even need to be touching the breaks.

Well I have one consignee on the phone with me right now - I have her on hold with one phone as I am trying to find an alternative for her two pallets on another. Driver called the agent, the agent called the consignee and she called me - kind of pissed off that she interrupted me.

Just got a quote for air freight service, they can deliver it to the nearest airport - $4500. I would have a van there for it but she will have to pay for both vehicles at the same rate.

Hell the thing isn't due until Tuesday night and not needed according to her until Wednesday Afternoon, I can't get why she needs it by Tuesday.

Nope she just said she will wait.

NO biggy. I would only may a few hundred on the plane anyway.

Hmm, not always. Depends on steepness, and how much weight you got pushing you. Pa 153 on top of mt penfield going towards town isn't that long just under 2 miles. I've had the Jake's screaming on full and had to tap the breaks a couple of times coming down. Ya I was in 5th at the peak of the steapest part cresting at 10mph.
