How often you walk into the cashier counter in a truck stop, particularly Flying J,to pay for something and are being asked this: "IS THAT EVERYTHING?" ???
I don't know about you folks, but I consder that very insulting. Many cashiers have the mindset that truckers are bums. What they don't know is that truck drivers make 2 to 5 times more than they do, and often haul loads that are worth more than their entire store.
I've started to react by minimizing my spendings at Flying J, talking to cashiers, and if they really piss me off I just leave the stuff there and walk out the store.
Fellow truckers don't let clueless truck stop workers question our integrity like that and make a habbit of it. Please take a stand. Good luck.
Is that everything?...sigh!!

I don't find it insulting, in the least.
I got checked out last week, only to discover I had forgot the very thing I stopped to get. I apologized to the cashier, and everyone behind me. But I was the least of everyones concern, as the cashier failed to grasp "That pack there" and went searching for "other" brands and sizes. -
I seriously believe you have a problem if you take the ? they ask you as a personal attack. Just maybe that is part of their training and they are only doing their job. OBTW I take offence at your supposed superiority to your fellow human beings. In these hard times that everyone is experiencing they at least have a job and are doing it to the best of their ability and trying to support or help to support their families. If everyone took such great offence to such an innocent ? then this world is deffinetly in a sorry state of affairs. And ATTITUDES such as yours does little to help us try and project a better image of our industry. JMHO

Imagine how he'd feel if a lot lizard asked him that !
simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
On the other hand, cashiers also have their pet peeves. I noticed the small sign at Flying J in Benton Harbor: "Please don't hit on our cashiers."

If he gets in a roar about that,-how in the world does he put up with everything else???? I dont understand, but at least I am having an average day.......

Obviously some of you drivers are used to be treated and perceived that way. I'm not cause I'm a new driver, and I've found many stunning things happening in this industry. Like the way trucking companies take advantage of the drivers and lie to them like they're babies. If you take "MY" point offensive then you deserve the treatment, and more is coming...
