After I cleared my carpet drop at a movie theatre in Durham, wifey and I went home. 18 days 6700 miles. We were gonna be sent to Iams in Henderson NC down to Newnan GA, but we were taken off the load and subsequent backhaul because the mall guy told us it was gonna take five hours to unload without a pallet jack. I guess they borrowed one from the mall and got us done in two hours instead. If dispatch had given us the loads back, I would have taken them, but he covered them and home we went. I was ready to sleep in my own bed for the next four nights. Back out on Monday!

 

Welp, dispatch and I got our wires crossed. He thought I wanted to come out on Tuesday. I would have if we had done the extra load to GA and back. Oh well, another day home won't kill me or dampen my spirits. Headed to Henderson and Iams down to Newnan GA and Petco. Going out for 10 days and back home on the 15th for a family function.

I just got hired on with FCC for the 48 OTR division yesterday and I had two questions for you.

I see from reading the post that you live in the Charlotte area runningman0661, where do you keep your truck for hometime? This is actually the first time in the 3.5 years of truck driving that I have to find parking. I live in Charlotte.

And does FCC pay company drivers weekly? I forgot to ask Glenn.

Looking forward to driving with them as long haul is what I truly like.

Well i can answer the 2nd question. Company drivers are paid every friday.

It’s a longshot, but try calling Knight. They have a small area at their terminal that drivers from other companies would use to park their trucks.
