I arrived once 1 hour and 7 minutes early to the one in Johnstown, NY...the guy at the guard shack made me sit at the gate for those 7 minutes before he would let me in (at least he didn't send me away).

The most interesting walmart was 1 hour early for appt max but you check in after you dock, disconnect and all that and that's when you arrived at your appt. So better hope no one is struggling near you. Nearest rest area 22 miles. Nearest truck stop 60 miles away. No street parking at all.

I am positive if I show up at the dr office 5 hours before my appointment they will not charge me to sit in a chair and wait.

Just another reason to pull flatbed. Most flatbed places if u show up early they got a big smile on their face " man we wasnt expecting u til tmrw! Lets get u unloaded!" Then u have the home depot dcs and similar places that dont care which time u get there early late ontime, doesnt matter u will sit there 5 hours while the propane jockeys play with their phone

For collect (delivered by vendor) loads Wal-Mart charges 3% of invoice total for an order that misses MABD (must arrive by date), early or late on food, if the late delivery is under the vendor control. In food a TL vendor has an assigned score (usually around 97%) that they must stay above to avoid the penalty. Basically you are allowed a small window for oops.

as a shipper we charge our brokers a flat fee of $400 for lates or early. The expectation is the fee is spread over the loads you have so if yiu are late 1 in 100 times it’s $4 a load.

the DCs have wide discretion to allow you to change to earlier appointment to allow for emergencies. So brokers and dispatchers need to monitor themselves so as not to abuse this.

And this is only one of a few reasons WM is on my Do Not Service list.

Hey, no argument from me on this and I'm a Walmart driver. I hate JIT bs and don't pay attention to it at all. If we deliver a load to a DC early or late, they (management) says it's equally bad. Me? I don't care. I get it there as soon as I can LEGALLY get it there. If that's before or after their window, too bad.
