What if it Snows?

Ah see there's the disconnect. Our cat tells us when it is time to feed her. And that would be any time she is awake.

 

It’s Ash Wednesday .....

 

After spending some time in North Dakota. Have to admit. The people from ND who say it's just plain bad. They aren't kidding. It's the land of below zero and wind. Snow all over the place. Ain't gonna melt till (global warming...hehe) spring. It's just plain mean up there.
The locals say that Fargo is nice in summer. Give them a look. They say: oh no! Really! .... I say... You gotta survive till summer, first.

 

Was the breathing apparatus because of the cold or because of hazmat or dust?

 

I've been to Minot. It's a special cold.

Geesh.... home time... First thing I had to do was shovel the driveway. We got more snow than I've ever seen in my yard. Got my car out of the garage. Tractor in driveway. Snowed last night. Car plastered deep in snow. Partly snow that blows. Supposed to get more next week.

 

I ask because a couple of days ago I delivered a load of sacks, 700 lbs per sack, double stacked, that had to be tarped, because although the load wasn't hazmat, the open tops of the sacks and the minimal wrapping to keep the double stacks on pallets together might create a hazard.

It was a specialized material used for cement mixes to stabilize casing on the downhole part of oil wells, so they can encase and stabilize the vertical portion of the well. All the forklift drivers were wearing breathing apparatus to move the pallets from my flatbed to the enclosed warehouse. It was about 5°F when I was unloading, but I am sure the reason why the forklift drivers were using breathing apparatus was because those sacks contained some nasty issues for the health of the human body. It wasn't a hazmat load per se, but they took precautions.

Without a breathing apparatus I held my breath as I got signatures on my paperwork.
