Bought my wife one of each, 38 wheel gun & 9mm auto. Both S&W. Plus I have mine and she knows where they are.... I promote a woman’s right to defend herself lol.

We all have our opinions, I personally wouldn’t buy my wife a .380 I just never was much for them. But I’m still stuck in the world of bolt action rifles and wheel guns lol.

Those wheel guns shoot nice. I bought a matching set of rugers. One is the lcp and the other is the lc-9. She decided she liked the 9 because the lcp doesn’t have a safety. I like the lcp because it will slip in your back pocket. The trigger pull is a little hard for my liking though.

Okay that makes a difference in what you'll be looking for. She'll want something small, but not too small. With less weight in the chassis of the gun will come more recoil.

You don't want a gun that it takes too long for her to recover from the recoil. She needs to be able to fire 3 shots in less than a second. Double tap plus one more if necessary.

A single stack 9mm would be what I would look for. Load it with hollow points while carrying with a couple extra mags ready to go. With the amount of internal damage a hollow point does you don't have to worry about losing what some refer to as "stopping power" with a larger caliber.

Really and truly I think a 9 is under powered too. That’s why I suggested the .38 plus p. Not many gals are gonna tote a .45, but it’d knock down a buffalo

My bride got turned off of semiautomatics when my Keltec .380 pocket carry sliced her hand open. I got her one of these, but she's too lazy to get a CWP and works in a prohibited (government) space anyway. She could carry in her bra totally concealed. But that speaks more to what attracted me versus women's concealed carry choices LOL.
