I had a bad experience with werner this year, started with a trainer the first of the year and it took 6 weeks to get 160 hours of drive time. During this time with this seasoned trainer (over 10 years service) I have never been treated and talked to so bad in all my life. I know I am a student but that's why we are being trained by a driver, we don't know much when we start and being talked to like a dog does not help.I am a middle aged man and have never been so stressed in my life. When I finally got my paid time off I was glad to get off of that truck. The truck it self was a joke too, too many safety issues with a new truck. Then came time to start my last 140 hours, and ended up with a trainer that was worse than my first one, this one cuzed, made gestures about my driving, poor teaching skills, and my opinion was a unsafe driver. So my time with him was short.
So to make a long story short I went home and found me a better company.
Werner is using students to run as a team, and when the students get their 300 hrs they are sent home to wait on a truck, if no truck is available in 30 days you are released.
So beware of those recruits at your school!!!

Why not just request a new trainer?

Well, what happened is, both trainers reported you as "not qualified", so that's why they sent you packing, to home for 30 days.

Might want to grow thicker skin, even in todays political correct world, you will find that truckers with some time under their belt will more then likely tell you how it is in less then civil words. So if the trainer was saying bad things about you, imagine what the drivers who were forced to share the road with you had to say. I know everybody has to start somewhere and nobody was ever born with a steering wheel in their hands, but while you are learning to drive, remember the world goes on around you and its safety(even the ignorant ones) is your responsibility when you are behind the wheel and it does not hurt to be reminded of that fact

You could also pull the truck over and jerk your trainer out of the truck and teach him respect....:biggrin_255:

I doubt that would look good on his DAC .

LOL, it may not look good on the DAC but sometimes the way people act teaching them some manners is just what a person wants to do.

boone315: IMO I dont care how many years a driver has under their belt that is NO REASON to talk like a drunk sailor and to not have any manners. Your comment about "you will find that truckers with some time under their belt will more then likely tell you how it is in less then civil words."...makes truckers sound awful. My husband has 25 years under his belt and he still talks to people as if they are human, and I know plenty of drivers who also did not let their time behind the wheel drain their common sense and manners or social graces...

Thats true, but if you quit, they will screw your DAC anyway, might as well go out with some dignity and maybe this trainer will think twice about disrespecting students in the future.

I doubt it and I tend to doubt a rookie out of school can hold his own against an experienced trucker . It's questionable which one would get the lesson in respect .
