So, the last two weeks you guys have been blowing up my phone.

It seems most of the calls are looking for coverage and apparently the bottom scraping rates aren't being taken....

Aren't you're customers getting upset yet with their freight sitting around?

Anyways, it's good to hear the calls ...it's telling me there's Hope in people rejecting the cheap Freight rates!

    Good job carriers !!

I'm getting sick of the bottom barrel rates, too. Mofos are out here slicing each others' throats. January and February have been slower than I'd like, too.

I feel the same way. I'm looking at the averages and getting calls for way under, yet watching the boards and brokers are upping their offers that are already above market average as much as 50% before they move.

I think they're banking on the 500 loads outbound vs 800 inbound to justify cutting the rates to the carrier. Enough people must be out there rejecting the rates, because they eventually end up coming back and accepting my rate. It's either that, or something is off in the metrics they're using to determine their rates.

Absolutely! It's not fun having every "I work from my basement" broker calling my customers and undercutting me.

Plenty of the boiler room “brother man” brokers out there making outrageous promises with regards to rates as well. It’s always a good feeling when a customer calls you back to see if you can still cover the load because their other truck fell off the load.

Amen to that. I'm expensive and my customers know it. But they always seem to come crawling back when the "brother man" and "basement dwellers" mess up.

I have a regular client that I haul from NorCal to Washington, but I always struggled to find decent loads home. Started posting my truck on DAT and finally getting calls for decent paying jobs. Took a job 3 weeks ago hauling fruit from Washington back to NorCal for over $3,50 a mile and it's a weekly gig. Can't complain about that.

I'm staying to think things might swing rapidly upwards because the bottom was pushed so hard... We will see.

Still getting lots of calls about loads that aren't getting covered at insulting rates lol

I’ve done my part in rejecting loads.

Latest one was 3000 miles for $4100 heading into Miami with no loads coming out, best one I’ve seen is .90 cents a mile coming out. I’m sure someone took it but sure as hell I won’t.

Good thing about people taking them, it'll be one less competitor soon enough ... Keep weeding them out !!
