If you see a sign for "Vehicle Inspection" like on Missouri highways, do you have to pull in the commercial vehicle you are driving?

Could a trucker get fine for avoiding the Vehicle Inspection area just off the highway?

Also, are there other states besides Missouri that have these vehicle inspectgion sites?

You get caught, your gonna get chased down, providing they were all busy and didn't happen to notice someone squeak by. I sure wouldn't wanna get caught. They will sure make an example out of you.

    They're everywhere.

If your up to par with your rig, and you are legal why do you need to worry about avoiding them?

Granted its time that you cant be driving. But my guess is that they feel the locals need to be checked more than the rest, or why would they need to have them?

    lovesthedrive,

I am a very new driver. I really did not realize I had to pull into the Vehicle Inspection area. I am currently trying to get my 300 hours of training with Werner and just found out about these.

    Thanks,

OK, that explains it! When I read your first post, I really thought you were kidding.

Something to keep in mind here, Bobby, is that if in doubt, be conservative. It is much easier to pull in and find out they don't want you, than to go through the hassle of being chased down, if they DO want you.

And if they are open, they most likely DO want you.

Good luck in your new career. Hope it goes well for you.:biggrin_25519:

Please give me an example of where in MO there is a vehicle inspection station?? Or is this some type of temporary thing you saw somewhere on the side of the road?? I know on I-70 IN KANSAS, just West of KCMO there is a vehicle inspection station, but it is for cars and such if they are bought out of state, or have been ticketed for an offense (ie window tint) and have to show that they've fixed said problem. I run all over in MO, can't think of where you're talking about. . . .

This may be hard to believe but I was not sure which state I was in when I saw the Vehicle Inspection sign. I may of saw this when I was on I-70 on the way to Topeka, Kansas from Illinois. I was in training and my trainer told me to pull into the Vehicle Inspection because I could be fine if I did not enter. Thanks,
