Skirt issues have been confined by a couple others as well , I don't wasn't to roll those dice! I think I may have found a builder to build me a very nice c16. Seems to have great attention to detail and putting out great numbers.

You will still be running alum skirt pistons in a c-16. Like was stated before an acert crank with 7172 liner packs will hold up better and longer if your going to make hp.

Ally skirts are your worst enemy with HP. If it grabs one and you don’t pick up on it and it goes long enough for the skirt to fracture and break.... you’ll have a new block breather

I have a 2WS I put the PDI Cam ceramic manifold Borg Warner turbo and set my computer ECM putting out about 700 hp comfortably have had no issues with this motor in 400,000 miles I put the premium pistons back into stock injectors !!! It’s really fun to drive ,not enough horsepower to really tear anything up I noticed my rear ends transmission such things run a little hotter . I run heavy haul with usually about 110 to 115,000 pounds almost every day !

That is a really nice set up! A lot of guys will say they want 800 hp, or more, but don’t know what it’s like to try to tame it as a work truck. Good luck with that combo!

I have over 800 hp and is not different to drive than when it was 475 hp, nothing to tame about, just way more fun, my trans is a 16713 and ran 40k rears for a few years, never a single problem with that, I'm not saying to just go out there and abuse it, but is not wild or dangerous at all.

I know a guy who had a 750 horse cat, he babied that thing entirely too much, his clutch would slip if you drove like anybody else so he just took off real easy and babied it more.

That’s because he was too cheap to buy a proper clutch.

I know a few that are working 900hp plus electronic cats, they don’t have issues and the trucks aren’t babied.

The problem is that people expect to have all this power and not make changes to the truck to go along with it.

Yeah he was aware of that but just babied it along anyway, he could drive it just fine but when anybody else hopped in it they thought it was a pos. He put a proper eaton clutch in it when he had a different notor put in.
