Hi All - I have some questions about Mayflower Transits policies and procedures and hoping you can help.
1. There was a driver who was arrested for battery, domestic abuse and was found guilty so hence 3 felony counts on the record. Does the driver need to report this to Mayflower/Unigroup? How ofter does Mayflower/Unigroup pull the criminal background checks? How long do you need to be clear? Driver was arrested, sent to jail, got out on bond, drover for Mayflower, then while the case was still pending did a cross country move, assaulted (pushed/yelled) a customer. What's law on this? What if Mayflower covers it up with the customer?
2. What is the policy on drivers for Mayflower showing up at customers homes in shorts and t-shirt...no uniform?
3. Does the drive have to check in with the destination agent? What if they don't?
4. What if the driver hires their own labor at destination and they are not screened by Mayflower?
5. Is it mayflower policy that you need to collect the cashier check prior to the unload?
6. Has anyone ever lost a customer's cashier check? What's the policy if you do?
7. Is there a place to download the Mayflower Transit policies, proceedures? Uniform policy? Process/steps?
8. What happens if a driver doesn't provide the customer at the destination with their paperwork so they can check their boxes?
9. What happens if the driver doesn't give the paperwork to the customer at destination even though the customer requests it?
10. what happens if the driver prevents the customer from signing the paperwork at the destination at the end of the mover?
11. What is the policy on a driver asking a customer for pain medication?
12. What is the policy on a driver bringing their child to the destination household? Is that permitted? Legal? What if the child puts thing in the homeowner's refrigerator and doesn't ask for permission?
13. What is the policy if the driver disappears during the household move and doesn't come back for a few hours?
14. Is the driver supposed to assemble outdoor patio furniture? Inside furniture?
15. What is the policy if things arrive broken and the customer says to the driver - This chair arm is broken an the driver says "it was that way when I got it" "I didn't do that"
16. What is the policy if the driver starts to hit on the homeowner, asking uncomfortable questions like "what do you do for a living" and "are you married" and "oh, that's how you can afford this house"
17. When a driver is investigated what happens? How long does it take?
Need honest insight directly from you guys. Thanks.

george123 Thanks this. -
11: policy on driver asking customer for pain medicine.
That's a Felony. IF your customer opens the narcotic prescription and hands driver even one pill. That's a felony against the Customer or anyone whose medicine is prescribed to. (Diversion) Driver is not allowed to have pain medicine in body at all while onduty or driving. It's a Federal disqualification as of 1-1-2018.
16: Call the Law. Tell them you are being harassed or suggestive against your person sexually or other. The situation no longer is a professional moving stuff into your home.
The damage claim can be easily taken care of by YOU photographing every item loaded into a big rig from your old house. Digital cameras hold hundreds or thousands of pictures. Easy peasy shutter squeezy.george123 Thanks this. -
I think this should be routed to the joke section....
dunchues, Rollr4872 and Socal Xpress Thank this. -
We aren’t here to help you crucify someone....figure it out for yourself! -
Just out of curiosity, why are you asking these questions? Are you an attorney or do you work for a law firm in any capacity?
Disgruntled customer ? -
Some of these guys are just contractors and follow company policies loosely. I owned 4 moving Van's at one point and made a good living but got tired and now do OTR with a dryvan. These large cross country moving companies have many contractors coast to coast and in no way can keep track of the movers and driver interactions. Its sounds like you had a terrible moving experience , my advice would be to move on .
Positives
You were not physically harmed
Nothing of high value was stolen
Your in your new place, congrats !
Negative
Crappy unprofessional experience
The lead mover is really the one at fault , As someone who has been the lead on thousands of moves I understand how bad helpers and unknown situations spiral out of control . Mayflower has a whole staff of ppl for claims and damages , they also have Attorneys and lots of money . I chalk this up as a learning experience , Maybe do a write up or YouTube video explaining your bad move to get it off your chest . Positive thoughts and a good day to you !george123 Thanks this. -

Why not ? This is a forum and I gave my answer and opinion. A discussion or debate and even ideas get thrown around on TR .

Just wondering about this, possibly a customer who needs answers and we all act stupid.
No wonder this industry has a piss poor reputation and the public hates us.danny23tx Thanks this.
