I had this. Knight Rider big wheel. Would ride it on the older kids skateboard half pipe. Until I fell off and a nail ripped my pants and underwear. Needless to say I didn’t hang out with them after that lol

    Wow!
Is incredible the things I have forgotten since being a kid. That big wheel there actually the idea came from if memory serves me well the TV program of "Knight Rider" in which the self driving car that talk I think it use to be called "Kid" I'm not sure.
    Thanks for the photo!!!

I'm making a delivery tomorrow in "Irving, Texas" after that I get 4 days of home time and some delicious Caribbean home cooking! :D
Going also to the local hospital for some exams to make sure everything is ok. Haven't been feeling well the last couple of months.

Well, it might be a bit before we are completely replaced to the “final mile” but in 5-7 years, I can totally see an auto truck running from one big dock to another big dock... right off the interstate... just drop n hook back to back to back... (think yard jockey but on the interstates)... they will run at night when less traffic is out carry enough fuel for several round trips and only fuel at their home yard... one dock will prep loads, they roll at night and be there the next morning... and no paperwork either... as both ends know what’s on the load and when and where it dropped.

And chains, those can be automated ... I saw an ambulance in California with your automated swinging chains... flip a switch inside the cab and yup, all chained up.

The tech is already there for use on standardized roads like interstates... our trucks already know if we are in the lane and how far we are behind the vehicle in front of us... a few more sensors and a Tesla Brain... and ya... 7 years, tops.

So “customer service” and “personal touch” will be the areas we as Drivers will be offering... and more local work from big docks to the final mile.... well, until the drones come in that is.
