Haven't heard much from the OP in 11 pages, wonder if they feel bad? Not many sided with them. Hitting the LR with the RF of the truck, tried to get by on the shoulder.

Not at fault doesn't matter. Avoidable is the only thing that counts!

If the OP is right about the car being completely stopped on the freeway and has a video that shows this, then there is some promise. Unfortunately, I don’t think that was the case.

    Bluhbluhbluhbluhbluh.

Have you ever drove at night when it’s dark?
Can you stop in the distance your headlights shine?
    Of course you can’t.

Perception, Reaction and Braking time would mean everyone would be driving under 20 mph after the sun went down.

    Never.
It is always full daylight when I drive at night.

Maybe you are doing something wrong if it is actually dark when you drive at night.

Yeah ... I can see that, but ... until the video is posted .... it is just speculation.

I hope she does come back, no need to run away.

If the car was "stopped", then there would be a car that was totaled out. She emphasized she was at 77k, so with that weight, it would make a mess of anything sitting on the road.

    x1Heavy and PE_T Thank this.

Sometimes we learn some things we really don't want to know.

I had a Trucker pull out in front of me once - I was doing about 60.
In his defense, It was sunset, and yes, he was looking into the sun.
Found you really can broad-slide or drift a 26,000 lb. truck!
I can still hear the duals sliding and hopping about 45 degrees sideways.
I didn't hit him, but just by a foot or two.
Might be what happened here; don't know, but anything's possible.

I share your hope that she does come back. Maybe one of the Mods can write a note that will assure her that we are not a pack of thugs. We say the things (Who is this we, and who is this THEY!?) we say sometimes that people do not want to hear like medicine out of love. Sometimes they need to leave because it's too hot in the kitchen. I hope that they learn ok, I'll learn and do better listening to TTR...

    PE_T Thanks this.
