I think Eaton increased torque spec to 650-700 ft/lb awhile ago.

Rideandrepair, Oxbow and BoxCarKidd Thank this.

Ok I’ll look. The directions I saw from Eaton were 450-500 on oiled threads.

Those nuts are considered a one tine use item. Only torqued one time. The loc tite is cheeping out and saving a trip to town for parts.

I hate to hear that as it would equal hand work for me or stronger air tool.

I can back it off and drip some loctite on there pretty easy since I didn’t put the u-joint back in the yoke yet.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

If the driveshaft is not back on it I would remove the nut. Clean the threads with brake cleaner or starting fluid. Apply a lot of loctite but what color? I like blue but what ever I have on hand if I do not have to go to town. Or a new nut. The oil on yoke nuts is new to me. Torques on bolts can get very confusing. Are they oiled, shouldered, lubricant XYZ, is locktite a lubricant? Hino has different torque specs on head bolts depending on the length.
I was with Goodysnap until spsauserland just messed me up in print.

I think the nut has changed again since the one in the picture I posted, but newer manuals call for 650-700 ft/lb.
