    Learning from y'all, thanks.... for real. I'm gonna start watching better up in Toodlie'doo... just for s' and g's .. One thing I've never done is containers (nor tippers.)

    Most 40 footers have an empty weight of 8200 lbs give or take a couple hundred pounds so that 20 footer would have been 4-5k lbs so 4 straps over the top was more than enough.

    Explain. For an empty 20’ container that was plenty enough to meet requirements.

    Only containers I hauled were those military ones that are 8’x8’ and I just used 2 straps on each. Made it 2100 miles and didn’t move a mm so I assume it was fine.

    The military also uses 40' and 20' cans. I've hauled those 8' ones too, just like that 2 straps per can did just fine.
