Wait so technically I couldn't even leave the shop without being in violation anyway?
They never really explained how these e logs work. I thought I could do whatever I wanted provided I wasn't on public property. The way it sounds I couldn't even change parking spots into one a few spaces down if I was parked for the night.

Using PC won't restart your 10 hour break. Don't abuse PC. You can't drive for an hour towards your pick up or delivery. I normally keep PC less than 15 minutes as needed, like going to Wal-Mart to shop.x1Heavy and Chebbydriver7195 Thank this. -
Our e-log (PeopleNet) lets us drive up to two miles without logging us back on duty/driving.

When I was running my fleet in AOBRD mode, I could set a distance threshold such as you describe. After going to ELD mode, that options no longer exists.
If you are required to use an ELD you might want to verify compliance since this is all on your shoulders.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Make sure to reserve a space if you need to. It would suck to drive the .5 and it be full

I almost feel like never using PC again. Because when I use it to go park after a delivery which you can do. Crete calls me questioning about it. Why give me the option when you question it everytime?

Unless it took them absurdly long to change the tire I'd leave it on line 4 then use line 3 over to other truck stop put it into line 4 for post trip write in a remark and take 10 hours off. You want to punish me for that you'll teach me I am in violation by a half mile I may as well be in violation for 1500 more miles. They won't give that a 2nd look. Unless you're always pushing the boundaries/going over slightly.

I have a dedicated run and when I finish my last stop I am always out of hours. I can’t park there, so I log PC and make a note ‘no parking at current location.’ Then I drive five minutes to the nearest safe place ( a mom and pop truckstop) and then put myself in sleeper berth and go to bed. PC immediately puts it in off-duty, so when I start up, my 10 hours resets from the beginning of PC.
