Wtf is up with KAG drivers. Second guy I met today admitted to cross dropping the product and just “covering it up”. Smh

    You're welcome.
The tanker and fuel hauling threads are a good example of what we like the forum to be.
People with actual experience and first hand knowledge are helping people with legitimate questions.
I see less posturing and arguments in this section than any part of the forum.
That's the way it's supposed to be and it really works.

Cross drops happen but they never used be a topic of conversation anywhere but safety meetings.
Covering them up might work short term but eventually it will bite them. Hard.

Conversation was in one of the biggest terminals where all the carriers get fuel. Makes no sense to discuss it so everyone can hear it

Where I was living in CA they were running the worst equipment out of the bunch and most of their drivers were fine but they were using them as a steppingstone to go into a better company. Most were common carriers but a few were good.

Up here in WA, the drivers at KAG are very experienced and their equipment is very good. Possibly because KAG acquired 2 existing companies and the drivers stayed. They have NEVER been hiring for the last few years I’ve been looking at this area. That says something.

That's crazy. I guess the only time they could get caught is if they cross dropped diesel right? Because a crap load of cars would break down.

I guess so. Both drivers talked about “fixing” 93/87 cross drop.

I can't express enough how much I'm enjoying fuel hauling. Unlike other driving jobs I've had, in fuel hauling I have to constantly think about what I'm doing; I have the opportunity to work with my hands; interact with the customers; etc. It's a great balance of driving and working. Also, fuel hauling doesn't fall under the stigma of being "paid for the neck down". You have to care about your responsibilities, be detail-oriented and have a good head on your shoulders. No wonder fuel haulers gain respect among their peers. Not everyone can do this job.
