This job actually pays by the ton but it does figure out to $3 a mile for all miles. The benefits to this deal is that I pull there trailers and don't get charged anything and they cover all the repairs and tires. Yes pulling heavy is not the easiest on trucks I understand that. But that is all I have ever done since I started trucking. In our area in South Dakota/Wyoming/Montana if you want to stay local and make money you got to haul heavy. Tandem axle trailers are in museums around here.

Lucky you’re dealing with MT and WY too or you’d need 20 axles to keep up in South Dakota.

The only exemption I could do is the 100 air mile but im just out of the loop for that. Yes it will be long days but Im younger and willing to do it. Load and unload is fast its the 11hr drive time that you run out of.

Never talked to the guys hauling that heavy around here, but never figured they're doing it for that cheap.

That's why I asked. I wanted to know if the practice of trading weight for rate was still being used.
