    Actually I have a few relatives who are retired from trucking

    What you describe is how it was 2 decades ago.

    Current trucking professionals are the exact opposite of what you described, if you manage to surround yourself with that type thats on you. You just seem to gravitate towards that type of persons.

    man if you cant take the instructors being 'catty', how are you gonna deal with ####### drivers that cut you off every 10 seconds in any city, match your speed on the on ramp when merging and then race by you on the shoulder throwing rocks and other #### up at you and flipping you off in the process, other truck drivers passing you within 5 feet of your front bumper at 65, and we havent even made it to the customers yet where you will have to deal with the pimple faced guard shack playing video games on his computer and completely ignoring the fact that you are trying to get in and out of this place because your short on hours, or the ##### behind the desk that talks to drivers like she sits in a throne, oh now you get to go to the truck stop and deal with the ####ty cashiers and the other truck drivers who double park everywhere and then ##### when u bang on their door to get their fat ### to move, a couple cdl instructors with bad attitudes turns u off man u gonna have it tough out here, good luck to ya tho, i hope you wouldnt let it get to you because regardless of all that stuff , this is really an awesome job, i could never do anything else in life , but you got to build some thick skin first

    When was the last time you visited a truckstop? I don't do the flipflops, tank top/wife beater shirts, or sweatpants and I don't associate with very many drivers, but I sure as heck see the very thing Coover describes. If you make it to the road, you will be in for a rude awakening.

    Oh, and please try to put me on ignore. You will be disappointed.

    I am a van dweller who spends 1/3 of their sleeping at truck stops. Hence why I could handle living out of a tractor trailer cab for weeks and months on end.

    Enough already. You don't have any constructive feedback there is no reason to further speak with you.
