What did the 6 tailgaters behind you do when you slowed down? That's right, they all pulled out to pass you. Now you've got to slow down and let all them in before the next hill and then more guys pull out to pass you and the cycle repeats.

Yes the 105 speed limiter law is a contributing factor, but that doesn't explain why idiots still can't pass me when I'm only doing 100. The truth is these dim wits pass with the cruise control set to 101. The only time they speed up is when someone else pulls out to pass them now all of a sudden they can go from 101 to 107 and pace you. That's when they find out I'm not limited. Pricks

I'd love to see more of that. Just like speeding though it's rare they will enforce following distance unless it's extreme. 10 meters, more like less than 10'.

    Headway for commercial motor vehicles
    (2) The driver of a commercial motor vehicle when driving on a highway at a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour shall not follow within 60 metres of another motor vehicle, but this shall not be construed to prevent a commercial motor vehicle overtaking and passing another motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 158 (2)

Watching Heavy Rescue 401 a couple weeks ago an OPP pulled over a driver for tailgating. Let him off with a warning.

I saw that one. Aggressive, part in the hammer lane while flashing his brights, too close and he gets a 'warning'. And then they put it on national tv. Sends a pretty clear message that you can pretty get away with anything.

    Wasn't impressed. :|

I still can't wrap my head around how there are so many crashes on the 401. I mean FFS there are 4 lanes in each direction. How the hell do these people manage to duck up so bad so often?

As we can see by some of the responses here, when I said that "trucking requires the least amount of formal education" I was not being race, color, creed, or religion specific.
Intelligence is non specific to these or our own culture either.
The problem lies with training and most of all attitude while operating tractor trailer. There was a time when truckers helped each other out regardless of those other factors. It's not totally dead, but it seems to be dying.

No it's pretty much dead. It's hard to help someone if they're driving with the radio off and ear buds in their ears.

As for your other comment......you keep bringing it around to that. It's true there are idiots from every culture but you can see for yourself by doing a google search on which semi truck drivers have been sent to jail in Ontario for killing someone. 10 of 11 are east indian and that's just a fact.

While that community may be overly represented in these instances, you are pulling your statistics out of your hat.
You tube is full of video involving non-ethnic, self entitled drivers who believe that they do not need to allow a lane change or are getting brake checked "for no reason". I seriously doubt that these are all angels and the four wheelers are picking on them.
I am not trying to get into a p!ssing match defending the East Indians, just saying don't judge all books by their covers.

Don't take my word for it. Do your own research.

Out of my hat you say? Here’s Some bedtime reading for you comrade @Snoopycda

I am appalled and disgusted that this demographic is so glaringly over represented. every single semi truck driver convicted in a Ontario fatality is East Indian. I couldn’t find one that wasn’t. How do you explain that? There are at least 20 deaths listed below. These are only Ontario deaths and therefore don't include the 16 in Humboldt.
