The folks who drive them know better than to take it to the nightly demolition derby commonly found at most national chain "truck stops"...
What are the benefits of a long wheelbase ?

You can do quite a few things with it. Ive had a few long frame trucks in my time. I found them to be rather good with two exceptions. You just have to get better and more choosy where you stick it.
And to do that backing in one move? That's usually enough to smooth the crowd over.
Finally but not last there is future potential for that thing when it's working days are over. Toss the stock sleeper and build a large car out of it with a righteous apartment. If done right, you might find a new life hauling shows and conventions where you don't have to move much until it's time to move it.Farmerbob1, Rideandrepair and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
It can be a give to get deal. A man with just a little sense doesn't have any trouble getting one around.
People hate on lots of things they haven't tried, including me. I ain't driving some needle wee nee stripped down low dough company ride.cke, snowman_w900, Farmerbob1 and 20 others Thank this. -
I’ve seen plenty of short run of the mill trucks turn to short put trailers in the ditch, but have yet to see a stretched out petercar hung up!!!
I think if you can ride that horse more power to ya!
Personally I love those old stretched out cab overs they’re gorgeous !!rank, Farmerbob1, Al. Roper and 4 others Thank this. -
