What are the benefits of a long wheelbase ?

    I used to pull a 53' spread axle bullrack behind a W900L. Both the truck and trailer were all lit up, IF I wanted them lit up... I had the trailer lights wired so I could turn off all the extra lights if I wanted to. With the extra lights turned off it looked like a freight hauler in the dark, flip a switch and it was worthy of any lights and chrome truck show.

    And all them extra lights made it very easy to tell where that trailer was when making a tight corner in the dark... Even if it was raining or snowing buckets!

    I drove one. They were the first things disconnected and taken off.

    I won't drive with em again.

    I like driving in the dark. Not having my face lit up and my eyeballs blinded.

    To me there's 2 purposes for the extra lights.
    1. I think they look cool.
    1. If I ever have truck vs car or God forbid truck vs bike. I don't want the other party to ever be able to try and claim "I couldn't see the truck".

    I get a kick out of the folks that say, "longer is smoother", which is true, but just barely considering most modern highway trucks are over 230" WB and have air suspensions, air cabs, air seats and even air ride steering axles.
    What are you guys, a bunch of princesses, the pea under the mattress types like in the fairy tale?
    You can't even imagine a rough ride until you've driven a truck with 165" WB COE with a Hendrickson or Reyco spring suspension, or better yet a rubber block suspension!
    Now that I had a good chuckle with my morning brew, the only practical purposes that truck can serve is, as some have said, hauling long loads, which I'm okay with, or looking cool.
    When it come to being cool, you either are or you aren't, cool is a state of mind, the truck has nothing to do with it, yet the truck can still be cool without it's driver.
    Good looking truck though, I don't hate it, I would drive it.

    Some people like short trucks, some people like long trucks, mines in between. To each their own.

    In WVa some nights with the moon out, I used to kill all the lights, put her into neutral and then go find a car. He he he.

    I agree totally. I know we all have to die of something someday, but I see no need in dying of shame driving one of those no nose, plastic, automatic POS.
