Green bible, what's that? I never was any good at following rules anyhow... My training was "do it this way or get smacked upsups the head or made fun of until you do it right" Most of these newer drivers dont care to learn, that's the biggest issue.
Oh, more pay most certainly won't ease the irritation of dealing with certain customers. They'll always be who they are and that I can't change. But it does help in other areas of life. When it comes to dealing with obstinate oafs, I'm limited in my options. I try to keep my composure and make the attempt to avoid doing anything that could generate a phone call to home base. Actually had that happen once. Had a contractor being a real putz even though I was there to take material off his job site because it wasn't needed. Apparently I showed some "aggressive body language" after I got yelled at for being in the way, when I was right where I was asked to be. Got back to the yard and within two minutes had someone there coming up saying "you want to explain to me why so and so called me saying you were being rude to him?" "No, because I don't recall being rude?"
Being in business ya gotta be courteous to even the worst at times, but I personally have my limits! At that point it’s my truck and my rules.
Our other driver is fixin to be late to our 9:30 appt. That I was here at 8:05 for. We're all staged to get loaded already
Well.... guess I’ll drive around hauling sailboat fuel and get payed for it. Was looking at a load going to Lexington out of the Keystone for $3+ mile, guess I’m headed back to Huntington to load back to NY. Good to be needed I guess.
