Incorrect lash will make them noisier. Loose or tight. Proper set up with the correct feeler is as good as it gets.

It's the raw power from a real engine that you hear .....it's the sound of a real truck about to break the sound barrier

This topic brings up good points that some noises are considered normal. Nowadays everyone expects a tractor to be like their 2019 car. No sqweeks rattles noises.......nothing. It's still a tractor.

Alot of newer engines the air compressor is the only thing you can hear clackin' away.

Canadian Ontrario and Quebec semi commercial trucks are governed at 65mph by law, most big companies also govern trucks for fuel mileage, ecm settings can be changed and also allow drivers can be rewarded by ECM to gain speed for 10-15 second to pass all in different ECM settings, Kenworth and Peterbilt are Owner Operators favourite so they are well taken care of high horse power tuned engines 550hp 1850 torque is normal but can easily go 625/2050 and more , Cat is favourite but Detroit Cummins is also famous.
